Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arusha → Tarangire National Park
Main Activities: Game drive
Description: ick up from Arusha in the morning and drive straight to Tarangire National Park. Known for its huge baobab trees and large herds of elephants, the park is home to lions, leopards, giraffes, and zebras along the Tarangire River. Spend the day driving through the park watching wildlife gather around the water sources before heading to your lodge for dinner and a rest.
Tarangire Area → Lake Eyasi
Main Activities:Hadzabe and Datoga cultural tours
Description: Leave the main safari route and head to the dusty, remote Lake Eyasi basin. Spend the morning interacting with the Hadzabe tribe, one of Africa's last remaining hunter-gatherer societies, joining them on a traditional hunting and foraging walk in the bush. Afterward, visit the Datoga people, known for their skilled metalwork and blacksmithing, before resting at your lodge.
Lake Eyasi → Central Serengeti National Park
Main Activities:Afternoon game drive in Seronera
Description: Travel up the Great Rift Valley escarpment and pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the vast Serengeti plains. Enter the park and immediately begin a game drive on your way to camp, keeping a lookout for big cats resting on granite rocks in the late afternoon.
Central Serengeti National Park
Main Activities: Full-day game drive
Description: Spend a full day exploring the Seronera region of the Serengeti. Follow the winding river valleys to find lions, leopards, and cheetahs hunting along the riverbanks, as well as massive herds of wildebeests, giraffes, and zebras. Eat a packed lunch out in the bush to maximize your time with the animals.
Central Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater
Main Activities: Morning game drive in Serengeti, transfer to Karatu
Description: Head out early in the morning to catch predators while the temperature is still cool. After breakfast back at camp, pack up and begin driving back toward Ngorongoro with game viewing along the way. Arrive in Karatu or near the crater rim by late afternoon to relax and get ready for the crater drive the next morning.
Ngorongoro Crater → Karatu / Mto wa Mbu
Main Activities:Morning crater floor game drive, transfer to Karatu
Description: Wake up early and drive down the steep crater walls to the floor of Ngorongoro. Spend the morning searching for the endangered black rhino, dense lion prides, and big elephant bulls. Have a picnic lunch near a hippo pool before driving up out of the crater and heading to your lodge in the nearby farming highlands.
Karatu / Mto wa Mbu → Arusha
Main Activities:Mto wa Mbu cultural village walk, transfer to Arusha
Description: Spend your final morning in the farming town of Mto wa Mbu for a guided cultural walking tour. Walk through local banana farms, visit a woodcarving market, learn about traditional brewing, and try a hot local lunch prepared by the community. Afterward, drive back to Arusha to end your safari.
